The International English Language Testing (IELTS) Center will be opened at University of Sulaimani
Today, on Tuesday June 13, 2023 an agreement was signed between University of Sulaimani and the Australian Institute of Education (IDP) to open an International English Language Testing (IELTS) center at University of Sulaimani.
The contract was signed by Prof. Dr. Kawa Abdullah, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education and Bilal Chaghuri, Director of IELTS Test in the Middle East.
The contract was signed at University of Sulaimani, with the presence Dr. Zana Mahmoud the Director of Language and Culture Center, and Dr. Karzan Ghafoor, Director of International Academic Relations and Media of the University of Sulaimani and a team from both sides.
The International English Language Testing (IELTS) Center is scheduled to be officially opened at University of Sulaimani in the near future.
Dr. Zana Mahmoud announced that”(IELTS) is an international test to determine English Language Proficiency, in order to study in foreign universities, to get jobs and obtain visas.
He stated “This contract is a step towards internationalizing University of Sulaimani, unlike other centers that only take exams, applicants can register at University of Sulaimani and take exams.”
Dr. Zana also mentioned “For the first time in Iraq, the Australian Institute of Education (IDP) has selected University of Sulaimani as the first public university and signed a contract with it to open the International English Language Testing (IELTS) center.”
In a near future, the exam time will be announced on the both official websites of University of Sulaimani and (IELTS). Applicants can register and participate in the exams.
